On Your Mark, Get Set, Wait A Minute

100_2417Well, this week has been one of both ups and downs. We got off to a roaring start with our church’s annual mission conference. The Lord blessed and we saw our Faith Promise increase for the year 2009. We had a wonderful time sharing our burden with our home church. The week ended on a sad note as one of our deacons who also was treasurer, nursing home worker, choir member, and a number of other things in our church went home to be with the Lord following the Wednesday night service.  After not being involved in a funeral service for over two years, this week I spoke in two. Needless to say, this made the week a little difficult.

In addition, we woke up Sunday morning to a sheet of ice over everything! The ice was then followed by about three inches of snow. (The picture is he aftermath about three days later.) Both of our meetings had to be rescheduled. It is like we got out of the starting blocks and got called back for a false start. Thus, we will begin our full time deputation this weekend as we have a morning service locally and then head to Ohio for the evening service. We will “restart” again this weekend! On a positive note, we were able to see our meeting count increase to 71 scheduled meetings at this point. We continue to work daily in order to fill our schedule. Please pray for our family as we get on the road this week. Pray that God will continue to open doors and provide support so that we can begin Sharing Hope in Lima, Peru!
