Crystal’s Thoughts

IMG_0133As most of you know this was Crystal’s first trip to Peru. Many have asked what her thoughts about all of this are now that she has been to Peru. To be completely honest, the first couple of days there was some culture shock. The landscape, the masses of people, the language, etc… are overwhelming at first. The first trip to the grocery store was not too enthusiastic. But, just like God did in my heart, she fell in love with the people. The people of Peru are warm, loving, and kind. It is easy to have compassion and love toward them.

IMG_0194It is amazing how things begin to change once God gives you a love for the people. The second trip to the grocery store found it to not be nearly as overwhelming. Some of the things that seemed either difficult or unappealing became manageable and even to some extent desireable. To sum it up in Crystal’s own words. “Before the trip I had a desire to be on deputation because I knew God wanted us on the mission field. Now I go home with a new drive and desire to get our support raised. This desire comes from a love for the people of Peru and a longing to get back and begin our ministry here!” We thank God that He allowed us to be able to make this trip. I am thankful that He has given me a wife with the same desires and burdens that He has given me!
