We saw this Amish family alonside the road.
Our most recent trip has taken us through states fourteen (Maryland) and fifteen (Pennsylvania). With our meeting this past Sunday at Nottingham Baptist Church in Pennsylvania, we have now had meetings in eight different states. Other than Matthew, no one from our family had ever been to PA! So this was a new adventure for us. As I have said before, it would be foolish to travel all over the country and not stop to see the sites along the way. So, that is exactly what we did. We were able to go to two famous cities Lancaster and Hershey. Our children really enjoyed Lancaster. They have never had the opportunity to see the Amish lifestyle. Needless to say, they were very intrigued and had MANY QUESTIONS. After answering most of the questions and taking in a down home buffet we continued our travels.
We also visited Hershey, PA. I don’t think any explanation is needed! We only had a little bit of time (and free parking was only two hours!) so we just went on the free chocolate making tour. However, it was very interesting and enjoyable. Who couldn’t enjoy a five minute ride that smelled like chocolate and ended with a free Hershey Bar? After walking through the mile long gift shop filled with temptations, we were again on our way!
Deputation: A joy or a drudgery? Our thinking: It is what you make it! We are having the time of our lives. We cannot be thankful enough that God has provided 30% of our support in five short months, our schedule is full, and we still have the opportunity to enjoy it along the way! Only serving God could be this special!
